You are nothing but a multitude of habits! When you wake up in the morning you move into action there’s routine to everything you do. If you are living with someone you could set your clock by that person and they by you.
When I put my foot in my pants I put my right foot in first I don’t know which one you would put in first but I do know this if I put my left foot in first I’d probably fall over. I would be staggering all over the place. Why? It’s programming! That’s how programmed we are!
We are programmed to drive the car the way we drive it, we are programmed to dress the way we dress, to walk the way we walk, and talk the way we talk. Our whole life is a written program here!
And you know something we didn’t even write the program, they are other people’s habits. You and I are the product of somebody’s habitual way of thinking! It’s genetic and environmental! Why do you think you look like your relatives, do you think it’s an accident, it’s what is programmed right into genes at birth, why do we speak the language we speak!
Do you know that if you had been taken to out of your home and moved to the suburbs of Paris when you’re an infant you’d be fluent in French and absolutely no knowledge of your Indian local language? But by the same token if somebody had been taken out of Paris and put here the same thing would have happened.
‘We are programmed with other people’s prejudices, with their limitations! Most of the limitations we got we don’t even know where they started’. Now we’re living in a new economy the industrial age economy that you and I were raised in that’s not the economy we are living in anymore, it’s a totally different world we are living in. But we’re still operating with all the old habits.
One thing is very clear we don’t have the option of ‘turning away from the future. No one gets to vote on whether technology is going to change our lives. It’s here! You either fall in line with the new rules or you’re going to lose.
But here are 3 great questions you can ask and start changing your programming!
- What am I doing?
- What works?
- What doesn’t work?
“Make up your mind that you’re going to stop doing what doesn’t work and take that all energy and that time put it into what does work”.
Bob Proctor’s books on human paradigms and habitual thinking give great insights on once programming. Please do explore his book “Change your paradigm, change your life”
